Phoenix, AZ - September 10, 2008 - The Arizona Business and Liberty Experience Conference (ABLEConf), the premiere open source conference for all of Arizona, will grace Phoenix with its presence on September 20, 2008.

First and foremost, ABLEConf 2008 is the only event in Arizona designed to be the crossroads of all things open source, bringing together professionals, students and enthusiasts alike. It will feature issues influencing open source today, and allow all to explore the greatest potential for open source tomorrow, as well as publicize open source systems and educate the community at large on how open source systems can satisfy their software needs.

ABLEConf 2008 will be a great opportunity for visionaries, developers, technologists, entrepreneurs, programmers, CIOs, CTOs, educators, not-for-profit leaders, hackers and average users to meet, network and learn. This one-day conference and expo will be made up of speakers and hourly workshops. It will include tutorials about open source technology, and sessions focusing on the latest developments and information on Free Software topics such as Administration, Business, Education, Emerging Topics, Linux, People, Gaming, Scripting, Networking, Programming, Ruby, Security, Desktop/Laptop/Mobile Applications, and much more. Booths from various Arizona user groups will be on hand featuring hardware, open source software, and technologies.

ABLEConf 2008 will be a vibrant meeting ground as well as a social event. Join other open source developers, hackers, experts, IT managers, and users. Everyone will be inspired, hold debates, make deals, motivate, and connect face to face. After the conference there will be plenty of time to network and socialize with like-minded professionals and enthusiasts. ABLEConf 2008 will also be celebrating Software Freedom Day (SFD), a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). SFD is aimed at notifying the public about the benefits of high quality Free Software available for any use.

ABLEConf 2008 has been in the making for several months. It is being organized by volunteers representing a broad coalition of non-profit, Free and Open Source Software groups located throughout Arizona. It was conceived from memorable experiences at similar events, and ideas of its organizers and volunteers. It is designed to bring together the best, brightest, and most interesting people to explore what is new, as well as a venue where they can champion the cause of open principles, and open source adoption across the computing industry in Arizona and the general populace.
