Phoenix, AZ - September 8, 2008 - Finally! A grass-roots conference for GNU/Linux and Free Software right here in Arizona. The Arizona Business and Liberty Experience (ABLEConf) is a Free Software / Open Source conference on Saturday, September 20th, organized by volunteers representing a broad coalition of Arizona Free Software groups promoting the latest developments and information on Free Software.

WHAT is ABLEConf? First and foremost ABLEConf is a conference designed to present compelling topics of interest to users of GNU/Linux, BSD, and other projects. The conference will feature presentations and panel discussions on the use of Free Software in the enterprise spanning a range of interests from technical to motivational, educational to organizational, and other related community interests, including licensing issues and legal concerns. Attendees will find out what is happening in the Free Software world from some of the people directly involved.

ABLEconf is participating in Software Freedom Day (SFD), a worldwide celebration of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). SFD is aimed at notifying the public about the benefits of high quality Free Software available for any use. ABLEconf is also a social event. Throughout the conference, attendees will have a chance to meet and network with like-minded enthusiasts and professionals in the field. It will be a great event to catch up with friends, make new ones, meet project contributors, discuss new ideas and develop new business relationships. Best of all, attendance is FREE.

WHERE: ABLEconf will be held at the University of Advancing Technology (UAT) located at 2625 W Baseline Rd Tempe, AZ 85283, right off the 1-10 and Baseline,down the street from Fry's Electronics. Free parking is available in UAT's parking lot.
